Today I brushed my teeth with sand. Seriously. The white sand found in Hill Inlet on Whitsunday Island was washed out of an underwater extinct volcano after thousands of years of swirling against itself. The pure silica sand can be used to polish metals, exfoliate your skin or even to brush your teeth. Just make sure you bring some water for a good rinse!
Went snorkeling again today and met Elvis, the largest tropical fish that I have ever seen. He is so friendly that some of the people in our group even hugged him. He let me run my palms down his sides and it was quite a moment.
The Atlantic Clipper has docked now and we're in Airlie Beach for one last night before we start moving north again.
Oh, so how's brushing your teeth with sand? Kinda weird, you know. Baking soda is a common alternative, but sand? Good thing you still haven't found a skull in the sand. LOL! Anyways, sand is as porous as baking soda! LOL!
